About IFYS Foster Care
For more than 30 years, IFYS has been supporting children, young people and families across Queensland. We provide foster care services throughout the Sunshine Coast, Gympie and Far North Queensland regions and are committed to helping children remain connected to their families, with reunification always the goal where it is safe to do so.

Supporting children, young people and families across the Sunshine Coast region
We support children and young people from birth to 18 years who are unable to live at home for a range of reasons. Our carers provide a range of care options and are supported to meet the individual needs of each child and young person.

We support children and young people from birth to 18 years who are unable to live at home for a range of reasons. Through a network of local carers, we provide flexible care options that help meet the unique needs of children and young people in our communities.

Meet Shannon Davis
Area Manager - Foster and Kinship Care Sunshine Coast & Gympie
When you spend time with Shannon, you quickly understand why she’s so deeply respected in the Foster and Kinship Care space. She carries a calm steadiness that makes people feel safe, and a fierce commitment to making sure children and carers never have to navigate the hardest moments alone.
Shannon has spent over 20 years at IFYS walking alongside families in crisis, helping children find stability and helping carers feel supported, informed and confident. She knows the weight of the work, the complexity behind every placement, and the courage it takes for carers to keep saying yes and she shows up for them with the same dedication every single day.
Her team at IFYS reflects that same heart. Together, they coordinate support, advocate for children, and stand with carers through the moments that matter most.
